Your 007th habit: Sharpen the saw.

“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.”

― Abraham Lincoln

STORY TIME

You are walking through the forest one day and you come across a man with a saw, cutting down a tree.

“What are you doing?” you ask.

“I”m cutting down this tree.” he replies breathing heavily.

“How long have you been doing that?  You look exhausted.”

“Hours…I’m tired.  This is hard work!”

“Well take a minute to sharpen your saw, that will make the tree easier to cut.”

“But, I’m too busy sawing.”

Sharpen the saw…or sharpen the mind, makes cutting wood, or finding you purpose, easier.

Sharpen the saw is a metaphor for renewal; renewing the four areas of your nature.  It is in renewing the natural laws (the principles) inside you.

One hour every day to do all 003.  004 will take the rest of the day.

001.)  Physical you (002):

Sharpen the saw and take care of the body.

GET FURRY!…Like the odd one’s out!

Well…FRRE…Food, Rest, Relaxation, and Exercise!  To increase your pfffs…

Sharpen the saw

Well…not pfffs but, EFS. Endurance, flexibility, and strength.

Endurance tip:

Subtract your age from 220.  For example;

220-10 years old = 210.

Then multiply that by .6.

210 X .6 = 126.

That’s, at minimum, how fast your heart should beat to get your endurance up.

Flexibility tip:

Stretch when you wake up, then sit on the floor and stretch some more!

Get loose.

Strength tip:

Lift a skillet for muscle resistance.

Sharpen the saw and take care of the spirit.

002.)  Spiritual you (002):

Spiritual tip:

You do You.

People do this very differently.  Some find spiritual inspiration in nature, some in reading amazing blogs like this one!  Some find it in meditation, some find it in music, or art, or birth, or just remembering a nice moment in time.

Find God.

It’s in you, it pulls at you and makes you feel at peace.

You do you but be quiet about it.  It helps to just listen.

“I have so much to do today!  I’ll need to spend another hour on my knees.”

– Martin Luther

003.)  Mental you (002):

Sharpen the saw and take care of the mind.

Mental tip:

Watch less.  Watch less Facebook, Instagram, Movies, TV, Youtube, Netflix, etc.

Read.  Expose yourself to great minds.

Seek first to understand.

One hour every day to do all 003.  004 will take the rest of the day.

004.)  Emotional and Social you (002):

Sharpen the saw and take care of the emotions.

The rest of the day, hopelessly wander with peace in your heart and practice habits

004, 005, and 006: Do right, seek to understand, and engage in creative cooperation to contribute and serve.

And if you’re still little.  Be a little wanderer.
